Maritime Infrastructure Perspective Plan 2023-37 unveiled

The MIPP, spanning the next 15 years, aims to align the Navy's infrastructure requirements with the government's vision of sustainable infrastructure. It also addresses broader policy directives such as the PM Gati Shakti project, disaster resilience, and the transition to net zero. The conference serves as a review platform for decisions made during the first edition held aboard INS Vikrant in March 2023.

The revised IRS Rules and Regulations Handbook, focusing on naval combatants' construction and classification, reflects technological advancements and self-reliance in naval shipbuilding.

The family logbook, intended for naval civilian personnel, serves as a personal financial record book, offering crucial financial information on insurance, loans, investments, and more. It provides a ready reference in family emergencies, mishaps, and accidents.

The electronic service document project is set to modernise human resources record-keeping and management for naval personnel, aligning with the Digital India vision.

Navy Chief Adm R. Hari Kumar emphasised the Navy's commitment to accomplishing missions and tasks, readiness for activities in the Indian Ocean Region and beyond, and adaptation to societal changes. The Navy is collaborating closely with the Chief of Defence Staff and other services to enhance jointness and integration to meet future challenges.

During the conference, the Navy showcased indigenous projects employing niche technologies such as artificial intelligence, tactical communications, combat management systems, cyber security, underwater domain awareness, and combat platform integration. Additionally, new uniform items designed for improved comfort, hygiene, and functionality, including high-absorption T-shirts, camouflage caps and jackets, high-ankle shoes, and national civil dress for messes and functions, were presented.
