100 days of NDA Government: To invest Rs 100 trillion in infrastructure

Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar has announced that the government will invest Rs 100 trillion over five years to boost the country’s infrastructure.

He reportedly said that the government’s investments on railways, roads, highways, waterways and airport, along with its spending in the social sector, will increase jobs creation and boost domestic demand. As reported, according to him, these are steps that will ultimately make India a $5 trillion economy by 2024-25.

The finance ministry recently announced its task force set up to identify technically and economically viable infrastructure projects that can be kick-started in the current fiscal and can be included in the Rs 100 trillion plan for the sector in the next five years.
